Providing education and opportunities in ILS for Bermuda’s future business leaders
Since 2017, ILS Bermuda has partnered with the Bermuda College as part of an education initiative to provide educational and work experience opportunities for Bermuda College students. Expanding awareness and knowledge of the alternative reinsurance and ILS industry, our commitment to this partnership aims to further the potential of Bermuda College students entering the job market.
Key Offerings
The ILS Bermuda education initiative focuses on four key offerings for Bermuda College students.
Internship
Develop internship opportunities through a 50/50 funding programme

Deliver education sessions and lectures at Bermuda College

Host a resume workshop session geared specifically towards ILS job opportunities

Provide free attendance and mentorship during the Convergence conference
ILS Bermuda Internship Programme
A flagship of the education initiative, ILS Bermuda's Internship Programme provides funding for student internships and work shadowing opportunities with industry participants.
The internships focus on supporting work placements for students who have interest in expanding their knowledge and experience in the growing ILS industry in Bermuda.
Students receive exposure to accounting, underwriting and finance processes as well as hands-on data analysis from actual ILS transactions from a range of international companies with a base in Bermuda.
Who should apply
You are encouraged to apply if:
You have a keen interest in (re)insurance, investment or the insurance-linked securities market
You have aspirations of a career in the insurance sector
You are looking for hands-on experience to broaden your understanding of the industry
You are looking to develop your industry network
You are able to commit to a 4 – 6 week internship
Eligibility
To be eligible for the programme, students must:
be enrolled as a student at Bermuda College
be 18 years of age or older
have attended an ILS Bermuda resume session
Successful candidates may use the internship to complement their college learning, as well pursue opportunities to earn an internationally-recognised insurance designation.

2024 Hiscox ILS internship programme
Hiscox ILS is a dedicated investment manager within global insurance group Hiscox. Our team specialises in the development and management of insurance-linked strategies for institutional investors, utilising the broad resources, experience and access to risk of Hiscox. We are now accepting applications for our 2024 Hiscox ILS internship programme in conjunction with ILS Bermuda. The successful candidate will work with the Hiscox ILS team in their Bermuda offices. The internship will take place during summer 2024 and will run for 4 – 6 weeks.

2024 Marsh Management Services internship programme
Marsh Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd. offers a full suite of (re)insurance management services, including but not limited to, claims, accounting, risk management, compliance and governance support to (re)insurance vehicles. We are now accepting applications for our 2024 Marsh Management Services internship programme in conjunction with ILS Bermuda and are looking for two students for our four week internship program. The successful candidates will work with the Marsh Management Services team in their Bermuda offices. The internship will take place during summer 2024 and will run for 4 weeks.

Bermuda Monetary Authority ILS Internship Programme
The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is the integrated regulator of the financial services sector in Bermuda. The Authority supervises, regulates and inspects financial institutions operating in the jurisdiction.
We provide unique and meaningful career opportunities that contribute to the maintenance of the most vibrant sector of Bermuda's economy.
We are now accepting applications for our 2024 Bermuda Monetary Authority ILS Internship Programme. The successful intern will work with the Authority’s Insurance-linked Securities’ (ILS) team while gaining exposure to a variety of ILS business models that exist in Bermuda. Interns can expect to be exposed to business plans, financial statements, annual reviews, and a variety of supervisory activities related to ILS supervision in Bermuda.

ILS Bermuda College program internship
Integral ILS Ltd is an independent ILS fund manager headquartered in Bermuda. With strategic partners such as TransRe and Amwins, Integral provides its investors with comprehensive access to the broader natural catastrophe and event-linked insurance value chain. The successful candidate will be part of their global internship program, with the potential opportunity to connect with other interns in offices such as NYC.
This internship will take place during summer 2024 and will run for 4 – 6 weeks.

We are seeking a Summer Intern to join the company for 6 weeks, from Monday 17th June 2024 to Friday 26th July 2024 for a paid internship. The candidate will work with teams across our insurance, reinsurance, and capital advisory businesses (Price Forbes (Bermuda) Limited; Inver Re (Bermuda) Limited; Inver Re Capital Advisors Ltd.).
